Announcing headliner Michelle Wolf with special guest Gerry Dee and host Will Arnett
Emmy-nominated comedian and writer Michelle Wolf joins host and former east ender Will Arnett, along with special guest Gerry Dee for the Michael Garron Hospital Foundation Gala: Laughter is the Best Medicine, Canada’s premier fundraising comedy event. We’re returning for a fourth installment on May 4, 2019 at the Beanfield Centre at Exhibition Place.
Wolf has quickly become one of the most influential voices in the comedy landscape. Last year, she made international headlines as the much buzzed-about headliner of the 2018 White House Correspondents Dinner. Previously, Wolf was an on-air contributor and writer for Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” as well as a writer and performer on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
Gerry Dee is one of Canada’s busiest comedic talents. Drawing inspiration from his years as a high school teacher, Gerry is the star and co-creator of the hit CBC sitcom “Mr. D”. He is the winner of the 2013 Canadian Screen Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Continuing Comedic Role for his work on "Mr. D". Gerry's book "Teaching: It's Harder than It Looks" was a national bestseller.
Toronto’s own comedy superstar – and close friend of Michael Garron Hospital – Will Arnett is giving back to his community by returning as host for a fourth time. Arnett is well known for his Emmy-nominated work on Arrested Development and can most recently be seen in The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. Arnett is the executive producer on the TV series The Gong Show. He is also the co-creator, co-writer, executive producer, and star of Netflix comedy series Flaked, and currently lends his voice as star of the Netflix animated comedy BoJack Horseman.

Michael Garron Hospital was founded during the earliest days of the development of East Toronto. We have a nearly 100-year history of providing first-rate health care with humility and kindness.
Construction is underway for the Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre and the renewal of our existing facility. These modern spaces - tailored to the needs of our diverse community - will reflect the excellent care and sense of community that are the hallmarks of our hospital.
