Door to door fundraising is how our hospital got started. In 1926, community members asked their neighbours for donations to build our hospital, brick by brick. Today, face-to-face fundraising – both on the sidewalk and door-to-door – is still one of the most effective ways we can reach out to donors in a personal way.
Monthly donors are vital in supporting Michael Garron Hospital and our redevelopment project. Door-to-door and street representatives work throughout our community, raising awareness and engaging new monthly donors to support our hospital.
All our representatives will wear masks and will comply with COVID-19 precautions and public health measures.
Michael Garron Hospital Foundation has partnered with UP Fundraising to support our community campaign. Each fundraiser receives training about our work at the hospital so they can speak on our behalf. All fundraisers will have:
Our fundraisers are paid through UP Fundraising and are compensated with an hourly wage, not commissions. Thank you for choosing to support us! Once you have signed up as a monthly donor you will receive a confirmation message by email. If you donate with your credit card, your first donation will be processed immediately. If you donated through direct debit, your first donation will be processed on the 15th or 28th of each month. As a new monthly donor, you'll receive a thank-you call within two weeks and a letter acknowledging your monthly commitment within 30 days.
Yes! We use encrypted software to collect payment information in a secure way. Your financial data is further encrypted according to Payment Compliance Industry (PCI) Standards before being submitted to us to process your gift.
Yes. Michael Garron Hospital Foundation is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information and adheres to legislated privacy requirements. Any personal information we collect is used for donor-related and tax-receipting purposes, or to keep you informed about our activities and other mission-related communications. We do not sell, trade or rent out any names or personal information.
You will receive a consolidated tax receipt issued in the new year (usually February) for all gifts made in the previous calendar year. This will be sent to the mailing address that you provided.
