There are a lot of good neighbours in East Toronto. They’ve shared a lot of heart with Michael Garron Hospital, and we couldn’t be more thankful.
We call Michael Garron Hospital “the Heart of the East” because our neighbours tell us we are, in many different ways. Jeff made thousands of neon hearts that glow in East Toronto windows. Lina sold handmade masks, Stephanie pedalled to Crush COVID and Antonio donated profits from his lemonade stand.
To all of you, from all of us...thanks for being good neighbours. Thanks for being the Neighbourgood.
Our hospital has been an integral part of our East Toronto community since 1929.
We’re more than a place where more than 3,500 hospital staff, physicians, and midwives provide expert care from birth to end-of-life daily. We are your neighbour.
Whether you’re coming for emergency care, medical tests, dialysis treatment or other essential care, we’re here to help you in your time of need. You can count on us – just as you would a good neighbour.
And now we’re asking you to be a good neighbour, too.
We’re transforming our aging campus and ensuring our hospital can support excellent, equitable healthcare for everyone. The healthcare we all deserve.
When our new Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre opens in fall 2022, here’s what you’ll find:
- Bright, modern hospital rooms
- Combined services for chronic chest, kidney and cardiac disease
- New mental health facilities
- Family-friendly outpatient care for children and youth
- Convenient outpatient care for minor medical procedures
To do this, we’re securing $122 million to support this transformation.
That’s why we’re asking neighbours like you for help. With under $20 million left to raise, we’re counting on the generosity of the community to help us reach our goal.
A revitalized Michael Garron Hospital is coming – join your neighbours in building a new and brighter Heart of the East!
Together, let’s build a stronger, healthier East Toronto.
